METALS MANUFACTURING COMPANY -- A BRIEF HISTORY

The story goes as follows. In 1933 after a month or two of not being paid by his employer, things were difficult during the Great Depression, Bob Tschaggeny Sr. struck out on his own. He had been trained in his native Switzerland as a metal worker. He took his skills and his tools and began making custom lamps and chandeliers and handrailings for homes and businesses in the Salt Lake City area. From this beginning developed Metals Manufacturing Company, a custom metal fabrication job shop. Today, Metals Manufacturing Company carries on his tradition of craftsmanship and attention to detail in all its lines of work. The Tschaggeny family is now in its third generation of ownership of Metals Manufacturing Company.

In 1979 precision sheet metal fabrication was added to the architectural metal fabrication capabilities of Metals Manufacturing Company. Followed by hollow metal doors and frames in 1982. Automatic door controls for pedestrian doors was incorporated into our product offerings in 1997; in this industry we are a distributor of Horton Automatics. We operate under the name Metals Manufacturing Company for all products except for automatic, pedestrian door controls where we operate under the name Bradshaw Door Controls.
